WISE Scholars Team Up with Angel City FC to Grow Community

Our WISE students at the Just Keep Livin’ Foundation recently teamed up with Angel City FC to make an impact at 99th Street Elementary. Together with their parents, our scholars rolled up their sleeves to clear weeds, harvest fruits and vegetables, and help maintain the school’s community garden.

This hands-on experience wasn’t just about gardening — it was about cultivating connection, responsibility, and purpose. Through activities like these, WISE scholars learn the value of teamwork, community engagement, and the impact of giving back.

At the WISE Scholarship Program, we believe that growth happens in many ways — academically, socially, and through meaningful experiences in the community. Partnering with Angel City FC allowed our students to see firsthand how small actions can create lasting change, while strengthening the bonds between families, peers, and mentors.

We’re proud of our scholars for their dedication, curiosity, and enthusiasm, and grateful to Angel City FC and 99th Street Elementary for making this hands-on learning opportunity possible. Together, we’re helping students grow — in every sense of the word.
